Love fake tan? Here’s how to avoid the Oompa Loompa effect.

Worried you might have committed a radio-active orange mistake when applying your fake tan? Make sure you don’t do a Lindsay Lohan or Katie Price by following the Tan Tone Chart.

Designed to give us girls an indication as to where we fall on the tanning scale, the chart is out now in Debenhams.
Director of Beauty, Sara Stern, says “The bronzed look is a key trend for this summer. However, our research shows that an astonishing 70 per cent of fake tanners get the look wrong, with the top three sins being using the incorrect product for their desired colour, applying too much product and topping up too often. We want to encourage a healthy glow, whilst avoiding the dreaded orange.”

And if you’ve gone a shade to far? “We even have products such as the St Tropez tan remover on hand, to help customers who are more orange sinners than bronzed winners," says Sarah.

So make sure you’re faking it fabulously this summer.

The cream with electric results?

A revolution in skincare is about to hit the beauty counters – and a waiting list for it is already growing.

The Johnson & Johnson brand RoC® has been looking at the the relationship between bioelectricity (the electrical currents that flow through all plants and animals) and skin repairing.

Their scientists have discovered that the frequency of bioelectric signals within our bodies diminishes as we age, so they have developed a revolutionary technology which harnesses its power, by creating low level micro-currents to help rejuvenate the skin.

Delivering anti-ageing results, this new technology will be available later this year, as RoC® E-Pulse™ Skin Electro-Stimulation Technology™.

Add real va va voom to your lashes

Lash experts Malika have introduced a brand new collection of lashes to make your peepers pop. Featuring seven luscious lash looks, the Dressed Up Lashes will add true Hollywood style to your look.

Iconic lashes (£8)

With three super-sultry looks, ranging from Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe to Brigitte Bardot, Icon Lashes are perfect for a daring night on the town.

Fantasy lashes (£8)

For the ultimate avant-garde gaze, Fantasy Lashes are just the thing. Available in Cindy – a touch of whimsy and sparkle with a feather effect, Naomi (you can’t be missed wearing these light-catching sparklers!) and Helena, Claudia and Linda (tipped with glittery frosting).

“We searched the world to really find the best possible quality for our lashes, says Malika’s founder and creative director Ritu. "And these soft, 100% human hair eye fans are easy to apply, super comfortable to wear and amazingly durable! If you treat them right they will become your favourite party accessory, as you can happily wear the same pair over and over again.”

Application tips:

• After finishing your eye makeup, curling your lashes and applying mascara, pick your lash of choice and apply glue to the base rim of lashes. Next, wait a few seconds to let the glue set. Apply roots of false lashes to the roots of your own. Press down first in the inner corner of eyes and then press down following along the lash line to the outer corner. Keep pressing lashes down until glue has dried and – ta-da – a gorgeous long lasting lash effect!

• For a simple lash treatment and some extra TLC for tired and dry lashes, rub a little almond oil into roots and follow through onto tips of lashes, removing makeup. Super nourishment!

• Available from all Malika salons. To find out more visit malika.co.uk.
